The Encore will get the job done. Burrs are adjustable grinding pieces that crush and mill the coffee beans into precise size particles. The better the grinder, the more consistent the grind particle size. This is a million times better than a blade grinder, but not nearly as good as the Virtuoso. In my early days of learning coffee, the step up to a burr grinder was one of the significant breakthroughs I made. You cannot make great coffee unless you are using a burr grinder – and don’t even try to make a french press with a blade grinder.
