Baratza Vario Ceramic Burr Coffee & Espresso Grinder. Grinder is in used, good condition. Minimal signs of wear, there is some scratching on the bottom of the metal portafilter holder piece where my spouted portafilter would rub when I inserted to the holder, see last picture. For reference my spouted portafilter is around 3inches tall and just fit with a little scratching. This comes with the upgraded hopper that has a turn-key to shut off/hold beans in the hopper and be able to take off the hopper with beans still in it. This hopper rests against a shut off switch for safety and it’s a hair smaller in diameter than the original hopper so I have used a small strip of electrical tape at the notch that engages the switch to create just enough friction to hold it in place otherwise when you grind beans it can tend to slip counterclockwise a hair just off the switch turning off the motor. Previously I would hold the hopper in place while grinding, however, the Home Barista forum indicated this easy tape fix which has worked perfect since implementing. If you prefer to remove the tape, you will simply have to hold the hopper fully clockwise while grinding so it doesn’t slip off the shut-off switch and turn off the motor. Grinder works great for dialing in espresso, I’m around the 3-F setting for a 17g coffee dose, 25second, 32g liquid espresso out shot. The numbers are the larger steps in grind size, the alphabet are smaller steps so plenty of room to grind finer or more coarse depending on your coffee and espresso machine.
